Abstract
In the latest years, polymer nanocomposites have gained considerable attention for their potential to decrease electromagnetic pollution in electronic devices. Many attempts have been made to improve electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding effectiveness, i.e., hybrid, cellular, multilayer structures, etc. Among these, employing hybrid fillers has been proved to be an effective method to enhance shielding effectiveness. This chapter presents a comprehensive literature survey on hybrid polymer composite materials for EMI shielding applications. It first briefly discusses electromagnetic theory, its mechanisms, and the parameters affecting it, and then it summarizes and discusses the work done with polymer nanocomposites and the different hybrids.
