Abstract

The 6D Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravitation is investigated in the present paper. This modification of the classical theory of relativity is of undoubted interest, because it gives the opportunity to describe with these models accelerated expansion of the Universe discovered recently. In addition, the modification naturally follows from the low-energy limit of string theory. It is demonstrated that this theory allows one to construct effectively the 4D Friedman-Robertson-Walker Universe; in this case, the additional dimensions are compactified.
