Abstract

AbstractBilayer nanowire gratings were fabricated by laser interference lithography. The longitudinal and lateral Surface Plasmon resonances led to transreflective polarization and color filteration, respectively. Different from the conventional absorptive polarizers and color filters, the bilayer nanowire gratings are reflective, which has a great potential in green energy display devices such as E‐papers and liquid crystal displays. Based on the optical characters of nanowire gratings, a prototype of display device without the need of conventional polarizer and colorfilter is proposed and discussed.
