Purpose: Medical devices such as urinary catheters (UCs) are crucial for the care of some critically ill children. However, they are not always discontinued when appropriate, increasing the risk of catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs), resulting in increased morbidity, prolonged length of stay, and additional costs.
