Abstract

Perovskite quantum dots films (PQDF) are emerging as low‐cost alternatives to improve the color gamut of liquid crystal display (LCD) backlights due to their narrow half peak width. In this paper, hybrid composite films with green perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) and red rare earth phosphors were combined in a dual layer film for LCD backlight display applications. By combining the in‐situ fabricated green emissive PQDF with KSF phosphor or red nitride phosphor (NP), we prepared hybrid composite films of green PQDF and red phosphors with high brightness and wide color gamut. The color gamut of PQDs‐KSF is 83.1% of Rec. 2020 due to the narrow full‐width‐at‐half‐maximum of PQDs and KSF phosphors. These composite films have great potential in the application of LCD backlights.
