Abstract

A laser with 60 mm-aperture composite ceramic disk pumped by laser diode arrays was developed. By optimizing waveguide and imaging lens, a pump power peak power of 75 kW, density of 318 W/cm2 is achieved with a pump uniformity of 96% by using a hexagonal waveguide. The temperature distribution and axial deformation of the cooler were optimized, and the axisymmetric micro-channel cooler was designed. Up to 2.3 kW average output power with an optical-optical efficiency of 37% is obtained in the stable resonator when pumping with a long-pulse.
