Abstract
Composite sleeve repair systems like Clock Spring® were the subject of a rigorous research and development program conducted under the management and auspices of the Gas Research Institute. In 1999, this composite sleeve system managed to get US Department of Transportation approval for permanent pipeline repairs for high-pressure gas transmission line repairs. More than one million Clock Spring® composite sleeve repairs have since been made. This chapter addresses various case studies of repair applications of Clock Spring® composite sleeve as a permanent means of pipeline repair within transmission lines, plant and refinery, and onshore and offshore operations.
