Abstract
This chapter introduces fluorinated carbon materials, particularly carbon fibers and carbon nanotubes (CNTs). Fluorination is one of the most effective methods for controlling the physical and chemical properties of carbon materials. Several studies have focused on changes in the electrical properties of fluorinated carbon fibers and CNTs. This chapter discusses the synthesis and electrical properties of fluorinated carbon materials and their gas- or bio-sensing properties based on the electrical properties.
