Abstract

Recently, researchers have shown interest in a composite that has good spring exchange coupling characteristics. The nanocomposite, which contains soft and hard phase material, is known as an exchange spring magnetic composite when both phase materials are adequately exchange coupled with each other. When the hard magnetic hexaferrite can suitably be exchange coupled with soft magnetic spinel ferrite materials, a high magnetic characteristic in the designed composite system can be achieved. The exchange spring magnetic composite exhibits the high saturation magnetization characteristics of the soft phase material and the high coercivity of hard phase material; this generates a large energy product value. The high magnetic characteristics can improve the electromagnetic interference shielding characteristics. In this chapter, we have highlighted recent advances on soft spinel ferrite and hard hexaferrite-based composite systems for electromagnetic interference shielding application.
