Abstract

Nanobiotechnology, a joint research field between nanoscience and biological materials, has enormous promise from a nanoworld. This unique technology can be utilized to formulate biomolecules such as nature-based drug molecules, amino acids, polysaccharides, etc. into green nanoparticles for various medical applications. Nanotechnology helps the above-mentioned bioactive agents to form emerging novel nano biomaterials and nano medicines along with their promising applications, which include nano biosensing and nano diagnostics. The nano biomaterials can be incorporated within textile structures to create implantable or non-implantable materials for their enormous number of applications (in medical textiles). This chapter makes it easier for the reader to understand how nano-biotechnologically engineered textile materials can be used for various rapidly growing hygiene products, which provide various noble functions such as antimicrobial activity, drug delivery, tissue engineering, and wound healing property.
