Abstract

Determining robust toxicological data which can be applied to humans is not straightforward. Information from animal toxicology tests is useful in determining the potential toxicity of a compound to humans. Together with in vitro tests, animal tests should be applied as biological markers of chemically induced risks. The range of methodologies and effects are discussed to introduce the reader to specific methods developed for research in fire toxicity.
