Abstract

Few studies examine the relationship between experiencing restraint and/or seclusion (R/S) and satisfaction with treatment at the time of discharge from acute mental health hospitalization. Most research has been conducted in adult or subacute sample groups. This study reports differences in treatment satisfaction ratings in children (ie, ages 5–12 years) and adolescents (ie, ages 13–17 years) in acute inpatient care who have experienced R/S and in those who have not experienced any R/S.
