Abstract

Dummies or mannequins that fulfill the requirements of the fashion industry come in one size only; hence, a user must have many of these to complete the full range of customer sizes to be clothed. Moreover, with a market having its mannequin size, different from another, the variations between sizes in the industry are aplenty. The invention of the robotic i.Dummy has allowed the changing configuration of sizes in body dimensions to be met with just one entity, making it a valuable and sustainable tool for the industry. This chapter describes i.Dummy’s initial development, commercial models, and some examples of application in sustainable clothing design, fitting, and other possible uses.
