At the same time, research has shown that psychological treatments can be just as effective as drugs in the treatment of mood disorders. Such treatments include cognitive-behavioral treatment, interpersonal therapy and psychodynamically-oriented psychotherapy. Also, such simple approaches as physical exercise and meditation have shown promising results. This presentation will critically examine psychological treatments vis-a-vis drugs in the treatment of mood disorders.
