Abstract

A novel design and application technique for light extraction in OLED displays are described, using micro‐optic patterns formed on the underside of an encapsulation glass. The design produces negligible haze and is fully compatible with the use of circular polarizers. A relative increase in brightness of 56% is demonstrated for a mobile phone display.
