Abstract
All antipsychotics block dopamine D2 receptors (D2R), and D2R blockade usually leads to prolactin (PRL) elevation. PRL levels in patients on both olanzapine (OLN) and clozapine (CLZ) have been shown to be similar to placebo. Most of these studies, however, are based on single-point PRL levels, usually 12–24 hours post-dose. The kinetics of PRL response has not been examined. Shamay-Tsoory et al. (1) required participants to play a game of chance with another (fake participant) who either won more money (envy manipulation), lost more money (gloating manipulation), or won and lost equal amounts of money.
