Abstract
Electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) have become popular and currently are the most commonly used form of tobacco. Their easy access, flavors, advertisements with untested claims, and widespread belief about their role in tobacco cessation have fueled their use. An increasing number of adolescents have reported using other substances via e-cigarettes. The studies examining these tobacco products among adolescents have indicated that these products act as a gateway to combustible tobacco. Recently, the US FDA regulations have presumably restricted access to electronic cigarettes to protect the American youth. We examined a subset of the high school population with regard to their access, knowledge, attitudes, and effect of an e-cigarette-related educational intervention.
