Abstract

Thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) are widely used in the aeroengines field due to their excellent thermal insulation, which improves the service life and durability of the inherent hot components. This chapter introduces the working principle of electron beam physical vapor deposition (EB-PVD) TBCs and the influence of process parameters on the structure and properties of the coatings. This chapter also summarizes the relationship between the structure of TBCs and their thermal and mechanical properties. In conclusion, some applications and expectations in EB-PVD TBCs are described.
