Abstract
Theoretical models for the longitudinal strength of unidirectionally aligned short fibre reinforced polymers are first discussed in Chapter 5 before the theoretical model for the strength of partially aligned short fibre reinforced polymers is presented. The chapter then reviews the theoretical models for the tensile strength anisotropy of SFRP composites, strength of randomly aligned SFRPs and strength of hybrid SFRP composites. Finally, dependence of the tensile strength of SFRP composites on those major factors described in Chapter 3 is discussed.
