Abstract

Successfully performing a meaningful cyber-physical attack requires research, reconnaissance, and an ability to discover exploitable vulnerabilities and appropriate entry points, in the process ensuring to hide one’s traces and evade detection. In this chapter, we provide examples for each stage of the attack process, with a particular emphasis on the identification of entry points for different cyber-physical systems, as well as a glossary of common attack techniques.
