Abstract

Bronchiolitis is a leading cause of upper respiratory infections in children and the leading cause of hospitalization in infants and children. Routine radiographs are not indicated in children with bronchiolitis, and secondary bacterial infection (i.e., pneumonia) is uncommon. Radiography may be indicated in children who are not following the expected clinical course consistent with bronchiolitis or those who require management in an intensive care unit.
