Abstract
Significant concerns about the relationship between the use of SSRIs and suicidal risk in adolescents have emerged over the past decade. This presentation will review the extent of the relationship; examine the risks versus the benefits of SSRIs for adolescent depression; discuss the possible explanations for the relationship; and make recommendations for clinical management, public health messaging, and future research.
