Abstract
A 65-year old female patient presented with difficulty speaking, eating and sialorrhea due to an extensive, worsening venous malformation affecting her tongue, floor of mouth and lower lip. She felt confined to her house by her condition and despite previous surgical debulking her quality of life was progressively deteriorating, most recently affected further by the need for a percutaneous tracheostomy to protect her airway. Management was complicated by antiphospholipid syndrome with multiple past pulmonary embolisms and deep vein thrombosis which necessitated long term warfarin therapy.
