Abstract
This paper addresses the relation between our proposed modal cluster decomposition and the lumped mass modeling method which is proposed by Seto. Firstly, a realization method of the modal cluster decomposition is expanded using sensor placement together with the design of sensor gains for each sensor. Secondly, it is proved that the realization condition of modal cluster decomposition is same as the diagonalization condition of mass matrix in lumped mass modeling method. Finally, this paper numerically demonstrates its applicability to the lumped mass modeling of a cantilever beam.
