Abstract
This paper describes about the surface texture of Japanese oak boards. The arithmetical mean roughness value, Ra, the glossiness, and surface color are the three main elements selected for evaluation the surface texture. The surface of Japanese oak boards were filled by pure aluminum powder of different particle diameter. The surface texture after filling was compared to the texture before filling. As a result, the glossiness and the chroma of the filled surface of the Japanese oak boards decreases compared to the texture before filling. Furthermore, when the surface was filled with pure aluminum powder with smaller particle, the glossiness and the chroma tend to decrease more.
