Abstract

Over the past two decades, self-healing materials have attracted a lot of attention due to their unique properties. Self-healing composite materials are a group of man-made materials with the capacity to recover their properties after damage. Self-healing materials, usually, can be divided into two different classes as autonomic and autonomous, depends on the required trigger. This chapter covers the present state-of-the-art knowledge about the application of self-healing composites in different fields of study ranging from biomedical engineering to, anticorrosion coating.
