Abstract

This paper elucidates the proposal of a bi-circular patch taking the operative frequency into account and its log periodic implementation. The 3-element bi-circular patch has been considered for the design on a FR4 Epoxy dielectric substrate. Considering the log periodic antenna broadband characteristics, the proposed patch has been implemented as a log periodic array which has to be operated in X-band frequency range. Dimension of 90 mm × 130 mm × 0.01 mm is considered for ground plane and for the substrate, the dimension is taken as 90mm × 130 mm × 1.6 mm. For the proposed design, the focus has been made on S 11 plot (<; -10 dB) in which the resonant frequencies are determined. Other simulated parameters like SWR in terms of voltage, directivity, and antenna gain and radiation efficiency have been determined by using High Frequency Structure Simulator Software.
