Abstract
Incidental focal acantholytic dyskeratosis (FAD) and epidermolytic hyperkeratosis (EHK) are histologic findings often seen in ordinary and dysplastic nevi biopsies. The incidence of FAD and EHK are statistically increased within dysplastic nevi, suggesting these histologic patterns reflect cellular epidermal damage and have potential diagnostic utility. While the occurrence of FAD and EHK within dysplastic nevi samples is well-documented, neither have been examined with melanocytic immunostains.
