Abstract

We report a 46-year-old woman initially referred for a 13-year history of recalcitrant genital warts. Her examination was notable for extensive, confluent hyperkeratotic plaques on the labia and upper thighs. Preliminary clinicopathologic findings favored condyloma acuminata, yet subcutaneous interferon-α and topical cidofovir yielded no benefit. A subsequent thigh biopsy revealed digitated epidermal hyperplasia with compact orthokeratosis and parakeratosis, as well as extensive acantholysis throughout the specimen.
