Abstract
A bandwidth tunable filter and a multi‐pitch filter based on twist structure liquid crystals (LCs) were proposed. The LC filters can be fabricated by multiple templating and refilling process, which shows large bandwidth and good extensibility. The bandwidth of the twist structure LC filter can be tuned from 111 nm to 244 nm with central wavelength shift of 16 nm. Furthermore, the bandwidth can be broadened to a great extent theoretically by the simple fabrication process. Three‐pitch twist structure LC filter was obtained, and the pitch number can be increased by utilizing multiple templating technique. The fabricated tunable twist structure LC filters show a potential application in optical communication device and spectral systems.
