Abstract
DSM (Design Structure Matrix) is known as a process modeling methodology for complex process like product design & development process that has feed-back loops. In case of actual application of the methodology to real business, there are some problems for example difficulty of engineer's availability, a lot of time to define (get consensus of) dependency between each processes. So, I developed i-DSM(integrated DSM) methodology composed of IPO(Input, Process, Output) sheet, DSM and Gantt chart. i-DSM makes DSM-Matrix automatically from IPO information of each process. Then, the speed & accuracy of process analysis & optimization are improved. i-DSM methodology has optimized layout design process of product, and defined design process guide that is utilized for design knowledge transfer and 3D CAD template requirement definition.
