Abstract

The use of organometallic derivatives as stoichiometric chiral auxiliaries for asymmetric synthesis is reviewed. Main group organometallic compounds, including boron and silicon derivatives, are first discussed. Next, transition metal organometallic derivatives with stereogenic metal amons (chiral acyl iron and cationic allyl (cyclopentadienyl)molybdenum complexes) and central chiral ferrocenes are considered. The chapter closes with a brief discussion of chirality transfer from desymmetrized alkyne--dicobalt complexes.
