Abstract

For decades, surgeons and therapists have carefully studied the complexity of flexor tendons and have revised surgical and therapeutic approaches based on clinical and scientific research. Today, repairs are stronger and surgeons often perform additional procedures to improve tendon gliding and reduce gliding resistance. The therapy programs today prioritize limiting work of flexion (WOF) and performing exercises with low-force and quality excursion through modifications in orthotic design and therapy programs.
