Abstract

Despite the increased utilization of complementary alternative medicine (CAM) interventions by patients in health care settings, limited reliable scientific evidence exists regarding the efficacy of specific treatments. In this study, a randomized controlled clinical trial was implemented to assess the efficacy of the CAM intervention of yoga in the treatment of outpatient adolescents with eating disorders (i.e., anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and eating disorder not otherwise specified). Three symptoms were targeted: depression, anxiety, and food preoccupation.
