Abstract
We have proposed a technology for manipulating the position and orientation of an object in a contactless manner using multiple air jets. By regulating the air jet directions and flow rates, the object can be actively "force closured" and its position and orientation can be manipulated freely. In this paper, we report an experimental system with 3 DOF (2 translational DOF and 1 rotational DOF) using four air jets on a planar surface.
