Abstract

In this study, we propose a new Bio-Micro-Actuator using Drosophila melanogaster's dorsal vessel. Insect cells are robust over a range of culture conditions compared with mammalian cells. Therefore, Micro-Actuator using Drosophila melanogaster's dorsal vessel can be driven without precise environmental control. Drosophila melanogaster is known to model organism, and its gene information is analyzed at all. So, we think that we can control Bio-Micro-Actuator's move by using genetically modified Drosophila melanogaster's dorsal vessel. First, we dissect Drosophila melanogaster larva for culture its Dorsal Vessel. Dorsal vessel lives for 13 days without exchange medium. Second, we check that Dorsal Vessel response to exchange of medium temperature. Finally, we evaluate variation of frequency of Dorsal Vessel by CCAP(Crustacean Cardioactive Peptide).
