Abstract

Background: Thread embedding therapy has recently gained attention as a safe and noninvasive treatment for hair loss. Although the mechanism of action is unclear, current hypothesis suggests that embedded polydioxanone (PDO) threads stimulate microcirculation and neo-collagenesis, thereby enhancing anagen phase in hair follicles. However, the clinical evidence on the effectiveness of PDO threading on hair regrowth is scarce.
