Abstract

Background: The mechanism of action of topically applied neuromodulating peptides (NPs) has been demonstrated in vitro using neuronal and muscular cells. Nonneuronal tissues have been shown to synthesize, secrete, and degrade acetylcholine (ACh). The mechanism of NPs in regulating ACh in nonneuronal tissue is studied using a synergistic patent pending blend (PPB) of five NPs and gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA).
