Abstract
The synergistic combination of nanotechnology and bioremediation interface of modern environmental engineering, so-called “nanobioremediation” is driven to accelerate the suitable mitigation of numerous environmentally related pollutants of serious concern. With key scientific advances, technologically robust platform materials, and a clear understanding of our current environment needs, nanobioremediation significantly contributing to clean and green the environment. For instance, nanotechnologically engineered sensing and catalytic constructs facilitate the rapid detection of contaminating agents, treat, and remediate to prevent the growing environmental pollution issues. Keeping in mind the unique structural and functional perspective, this particular chapter is spotlighting the notable potentialities and future considerations of nanobioremediation, a robust platform to remediate and sustain a green environment. Moreover, nanosensing materials coupled with bioenzymes, as catalytic cues, could act instrumental in strengthening the nanobioremediation platform.
