Abstract

Background: Although there is substantial interest in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in dermatology, underrepresentation of skin of color may limit the utility of these technologies. We sought to describe patient populations represented in ML research studies and characterize considerations of diversity in ML technology development in dermatology.
