Abstract

Composite materials play a vital role in many industrial applications. These materials have unlimitable applications in engineering sectors where low cost, high strength-to-weight ratio, and simplified fabrication methods are needed. For specified applications, the use of composite materials instead of conventional metals and alloy result in reductions in cost as well as weight. Some of the examples are casting of engines, curved fairing, leaf spring, cylinders, blade containment bands, electronic goods, etc. In transport industries specifically in aerospace, around 50% of airframes are fabricated from composite materials owing to its stiffness and lightweight. The aim of this chapter is to demonstrate the future scopes of biofiber-based composite materials in various industries and goes toward the approach of biofiber-based composite in future direction in industries.
