Abstract

In this work, we have successfully developed an integrated NFC antenna in a 1.57 inch panel. We have made NFC coils on both panel edge and MFPC and connected them through bonding process. The novel interface makes it possible for the user to interact directly with digital information through the display panel. NFC recognition on the front surface of the watch display has been achieved and reader recognition distance can be 33mm (NFC Forum Type 2 Tag). The NFC antenna integrated in a FMLOC (Flexible Multi-Layer on Cell)-structured panel has demonstrated premium display performance as well as high touch sensitivity of above 47.512dB SNR(signal noise ratio) for φ10 Copper rods. When the NFC is switched to the reader mode, no obvious flicker can be observed if proper time sequence is adopted. As a result, our NFC-integrated display panel prototype has achieved high sensitivity and stable signal transmission without affecting touch performance and display quality.
