BACKGROUND CONTEXT: With popularization of noninvasive magnetic resonance angiography (MRA), vertebral artery (VA) injury has been proved to be not uncommon complication of cervical spine fractures and/or dislocations. However, clinical course and collateral circulation following VA occlusion has not been fully evaluated.
