Abstract

Endovascular management has revolutionized the treatment of aortic and thoracic aneurysms, providing minimally invasive alternatives to traditional open surgical procedures. We provide an overview of the critical aspects of endovascular management for aortic and thoracic aneurysms, including patient selection, procedural techniques, and outcomes. The endovascular techniques discussed in this chapter include endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) for abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs), thoracic endovascular aneurysm repair (TEVAR) for thoracic aortic aneurysms (TAAs), and hybrid procedures that combine open surgical and endovascular techniques. Patient selection for endovascular management involves careful assessment of anatomical suitability, comorbidities, and risk factors. Criteria such as aneurysm size, dimensions, location, morphology, patient comorbidities, patient choice, and associated pathologies play a crucial role in determining the appropriateness of endovascular repair.
