Abstract

Elbow joint instability leads to pain and dysfunction. The lateral ligament most likely fails on a posttraumatic basis. The medial ligament most commonly attenuates more gradually from repetitive stress. In the chronic setting, ligament reconstruction requires a free tendon graft for augmentation. Surgical indications and techniques will be reviewed.
