Abstract
Background: The aim ef this study was assessment of right ventricular (RV) systolic and diastolic function by pulsed wave Doppler tissue imaging (DTI) in patients with proximal occlusion in right coronary artery and acute myocardial infarction. We evaluated 41 patients (9 women, 32 men; age 55±9 years) with a first acute myocardial infarction and proximal occlusion of right coronary artery. RV systolic and diastolic function was assessed by standard echocardiography with measurement of transtricuspid early E and late A diastolic velocities and DTI on the second day after acute myocardial infarction treated with primary coronary angioplasty (PTCA). Tricuspid early annular velocity (E'), late diastolic annular velocity (A'), peak systolic tricuspid annular velocity, (S') E'/A', were calculated by DTI. Patients were divided into 2 groups according to the time between onset of sympthoms and first baleen infation - group 1 ; n = 15, time equal or less than 3 hours and group 2; n = 26 time more than 3 hours.
