Abstract
This chapter focuses on diagnosis and information systems architecture. The diagnosis of the interviews can be divided in five main parts: (1) diagnosis of information satisfaction or achievement; (2) clustering of processes into information (sub) systems, that is, information systems architecture; (3) prioritizing the development of these systems, that is, information systems plan; (4) creation of a data architecture; and (5) final decision on priority. There are several possibilities to measure satisfaction of the interviewees with the information needed. However, one should be aware of the following facts: (1) the qualifiers and criticisms on the data are given with respect to the data needed for the execution of the business processes; (2) the information received but not needed is not registered during the interviews. The achievement factors will play a role in the priority setting of future DP activities. The achievement priority is based on the assumption that the data a system produces can be made perfect. When a system needs much information created by other systems, the design of this system is based on the way this information is presented to it. The way these files are structured will be seen as given facts and all programs will be written on these facts.
