Abstract

The Lancet Neurology was launched in 2002, at a time when internet access was still not available in many places. People born at the dawn of this century (Generation Z,1Seemiller C Grace M Generation Z: a century in the making. Routledge, London, UK2018Google Scholar also known as zoomers) are also reaching adulthood. The internet is now ubiquitous, and many of these young adults are avid users of apps and social media. We are seeking photographs that can convey the fascination of and for neurology for this young generation. The photographs can highlight any aspect of neurology or neuroscience, including research, clinical practice, or advocacy. Images that put the focus on undeserved or neglected areas would be most welcome. The competition is now open for submission of original photographs, never published before either in print or online. You can submit one or several photographs through our online editorial submission system; please select Unlinked Comment as the type of submission. Each image (a JPEG file, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi) should be accompanied by a legend of no more than 300 words, with context and background information. If featuring a person, please obtain written consent from the individual or their next of kin. You will need to complete the patient consent section on your author statement form, while retaining copies of the signed consent forms. The deadline for submission is March 14, 2022. The photographs will be judged by the editorial team, and there will be a £300 prize for winning entries. The winning images will be published in a special anniversary issue of The Lancet Neurology. Our aim is to persuade young people to stir their interest in neurology and neuroscience.
