Abstract
Publisher Summary This chapter discusses a crystal growth mechanism of LTA and FAU and a densification process of zeolite film by seed growth. Zeolite NaA and FAU crystals are grown under the same hydrothermal condition using the same composition of clear solution. The only difference is the type of seed crystal used. This result suggests that the crystal growth did not occur by the attachment of nanocrystals. Zeolite films or membranes are prepared by the growth of seeded crystals. Based on the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) observations and single gas permeation measurements, densification model of film or membrane is presented.
