Abstract
Industrial pumps will be better and smarter in the year 2020. Pump manufacturers will be larger but fewer in number with considerably broader product offerings of standardized items in order to meet the reality of a globalized marketplace. The pump companies which prosper, indeed survive, will be those best fitted to their environment, with the proper economy of scale and the right positioning strategy. Peering through the curtain of the millennium, Flowserve's Rotating Equipment Division assesses its markets, its customers' needs and evolving pump technology.
